We are Drikung Kagyu Tengye Ling Buddhist Society, established under the spiritual guidance of H.E. Garchen Rinpoche and Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche. According to the intent of H.E. Garchen Rinpoche and the request of faithful disciples in Croatia, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche granted the name, Drikung Kagyu Tengye Ling.
On spring, 2012, the Drikung Kagyu disciples of Croatia together with Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche founded the center officially.
Mission of Drikung Kagyu Tengye Ling
Through engaging in the study and practice of the Buddhist view and philosophy we are able to abandon the root of suffering—ignorance and self-grasping—and to accomplish the root of happiness—loving kindness, compassion, bodhichitta, and the view of interdependent origination. Our intention is to facilitate a proper understanding of the Buddhist view and practice, and thereby provide the method to accomplish the temporary and ultimate happiness of all sentient beings.
His Eminence wishes all disciples to practice together as a sangha, under the direction of the Venerable Dorzin Dhondrup Rinpoche, and we warmly welcome anyone who wishes to learn and practice the holy Buddha Dharma together in the same mandala.
Short Lineage of Drikung Kagyu
The lineage endowed with three exceptional aspects:
1. The lineage of profound view transmitted from our teacher, the Buddha Shakyamuni, to Manjushri, from him to Nagarjuna, and so forth;
2. The lineage of vast conduct transmitted from our teacher, the Buddha Shakyamuni, to Maitreya, from him to Asanga, and so forth; and
3. The practice lineage of blessings transmitted from the all-pervasive Lord Vajradhara to Tilopa, from him to Naropa, and continuing through Marpa, Milarepa, Gampopa, Phagmo Drupa, and Lord Jigten Sumgon. Lord Jigten Sumgon founded the Drikung Kagyu lineage in 1179. He received the entire lineage endowed with three exceptional aspects.
The three-fold lineage has been transmitted from Lord Jigten Sumgon in an unbroken line whose blessings have not declined, all the way to the present day Holinesses: His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, Konchog Tenzin Kunsang Trinley Lhundrup, the 37th throne holder of the Drikung Kagyu lineage; and His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chungtsang Rinpoche, Tenzin Chokyi Nangwa, the 36th throne holder of the Drikung Kagyu lineage.
Furthermore, the great Lord of Siddhas, His Eminence Kyabje Garchen Triptrul Rinpoche, who is by nature inseparable from the all-pervasive Lord Vajradhara, as well as countless other Tulkus, Khenpos, Venerable Lamas and other spiritual masters, all possessing this lineage, now reside all over the world to impart the teachings of the Drikung Kagyu to others.
